Senior Oracle Database Administrator

Location: Lincolnshire, IL (Hybrid – 3 days onsite, 2 days remote) Job Type: Contract-to-Hire Shift: Day Shift Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Data Platform Engineer (Oracle EBS Application DBA) to support and enhance enterprise Oracle database and application environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience administering Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) R12.2.x , Oracle Database 19c RAC , Oracle WebLogic Server , and Linux-based systems. In this role, you will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, performance optimization, and support of mission-critical Oracle platforms while contributing to modernization initiatives and cloud adoption. Key Responsibilities Administer and support Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) R12.2.x environments. Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and maintain Oracle Database 19c RAC environments. Manage Oracle WebLogic Server installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades. Perform EBS cloning, patching, migrations, and system upgrades. Monitor database performance and implement tuning recommendations. Execute backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures using RMAN. Maintain database security, availability, and data integrity. Troubleshoot complex Oracle EBS, database, and middleware issues. Support Linux/Unix servers and automate administrative tasks using shell scripting. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure and platform improvements. Participate in architecture discussions and implement best practices for enterprise database environments. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 5+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience. Hands-on experience with Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) R12.2.x administration. Strong experience with Oracle Database 19c (or newer) RAC environments. Expertise with Oracle WebLogic Server administration. Experience with Oracle database installation, upgrades, patching, cloning, backup, recovery, and performance tuning. Shell scripting experience for automation and system administration. Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Experience with Oracle Fusion Applications, Oracle Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), or Oracle Transportation Management (OTM). Experience with Oracle SOA Suite and Oracle Data Integrator (ODI). Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform). Oracle certifications such as OCP, OCA, OCI Architect, or WebLogic Administrator certification.
