Join Sentara Health's interdisciplinary Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry team , providing expert psychiatric care to medically complex and emergent patients across Sentara's facilities. You'll work closely with ED, medical, and surgical teams, supported by licensed therapists, behavioral health navigators, and a systemwide psychiatric response network.

Practice Highlights

Primary assignment at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital

Schedule: 7 on/ 7 off (7a-7p)
Daily co-management of ED behavioral health patients
Inpatient consults on behavioral, medical, and surgical units
Virtual consult support to lower-volume facilities
No inpatient psych admissions (handled by dedicated inpatient psychiatrists)
Strong interdisciplinary support: APPs, therapists, navigators, case managers
Key Responsibilities

Psychiatric consultation for complex medical and co-occurring conditions
Diagnostic evaluation and treatment planning
Medication management and crisis intervention
Collaborative, team-based care across hospital services
Supervision of APPs and students as needed
