Way (Respect, Integrity, Teamwork, Excellence).Purpose/Summary: The Production Operator's main responsibility is to set up and operate a furnace, shear, or slitter machine according to customer specifications and work orders. Detail, safety, and attentiveness are critical to regular equipment inspection and the ability to measure dimensions, align parts and produce material according to production instructions.Duties and Responsibilities:Operates equipment and uses tools etc. consistent with unit's S.O.P.Maintains proper records in accordance with S.O.P.Ensures quality is consistent with customer's spec/work order. Idles machine or makes necessary set-up changes to comply. Requests help from supervisor if necessary in making such decisions.Notifies supervisor of any non-compliance to customer's specifications or any changes made to attain compliance and records same.Adheres to units schedule when planning work to minimize delays, combine and/or overlap operations, anticipate supply and equipment problems, and maintain efficient production and quality material.Responsible for the cleanliness of the work area.Adheres to company quality standard, policies and procedures.Assists other operators as help is needed and performs other tasks as directed by supervision.Remove scrap from machine regularly and empty hoppers as neededCommunicate non-compliance production or quality problems to supervisor and/or shift leadQualifications; Knowledge, Abilities, Skills:Knowledge of current crane and forklift operation preferredAbility to read and follow all work order instructions and complete necessary documentationStrong communication skillsAbility and willingness to cooperate with co-workers and supervisors/management of the production teamAbility to work with little supervisionAbility to lift up to 50 lbsWorking Conditions: Plant environment, physical labor.We encourage you to learn more about our organization.401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee assistance programHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offParental leaveReferral programRetirement planTuition reimbursementVision insuranceSchedule:12-hour shift (7:30a - 7:30p)Day shiftMonday to FridayOvertimeWeekend availabilitySupplemental Pay:Bonus payEducation: High school graduate or GED.
