Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Smithfield, RI Excellent opportunity to join our dedicated and compassionate team at Cove Residential to help make a real difference in the lives of adults with autism and other developmental disabilities. Schedule: Sunday: 9:00 AM–3:30 PM and 3:30 PM–11:00 PM; Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday: 3:30 PM–11:00 PM; Thursday, Friday & Saturday: 3:30 PM–11:00 PM. Sign‑on Bonus: $1,000.00 (pro‑rated for part‑time). Responsibilities Provide supervision and support to clients in a residential group home setting. Deliver hands‑on, person‑centered individualized care and support. Assist up to six male residents with daily living activities, including house cleaning, toileting/showering, job coaching and role modeling. Intervene with clients when needed to implement behavioral interventions, including the use of physical restraint, lifting and transporting in a personal vehicle or company van. Perform general responsibilities as assigned, such as household maintenance, assistance with personal hygiene and facilitating daily activities. Be able to sit, stand, lift up to 50 pounds, walk, bend, reach and/or move regularly. Maintain a valid driver’s license for at least 3 years and drive a registered and insured vehicle. Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of experience working with individuals who have autism and developmental disabilities; 3+ years preferred. High school diploma or equivalent. Proficient in reading, writing and speaking English. Basic computer skills. Professional and respectful communication skills with clients and their families or other parties. CPR/First Aid certification (training provided if needed). Pro‑ACT certification (training provided if needed). Medication administration training (training provided).
