The School Psychologist will provide a comprehensive range of psychological services in support of the District's Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework and special education programming. This position includes conducting evaluations, providing consultation services, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting students' academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and developmental needs.SALARY
Compensation will be based on the applicable provisions of the BEA Teacher Salary Schedule.QUALIFICATIONS
Meet all requirements established by the Michigan Department of Education for School Psychologists. Possess a Specialist Degree (Ed.S.) or equivalent in School Psychology. Demonstrate knowledge and experience with: Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Curriculum-based assessment and intervention Individualized instruction and progress monitoring Demonstrate knowledge of: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Emotional Impairment (EI) Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Possess knowledge of childhood development. Experience serving as a psychological examiner in a public school setting is preferred. Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and collaborative problem-solving skills.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct psychoeducational evaluations and assist in identifying students' learning, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop effective interventions and supports for students with special needs. Provide consultation, guidance, and leadership in the implementation of MTSS practices and interventions. Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential records related to evaluations, referrals, and student services. Prepare comprehensive psychological reports and contribute to the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Participate as an active member of educational planning teams, including MET and IEP meetings. Support staff in understanding and addressing student learning and behavioral challenges through data-driven decision-making and evidence-based practices. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Student Services. In addition to traditional school psychologist responsibilities, this position will provide support services within the Adult Transition Program for students ages 18–26 with disabilities preparing for post-secondary independence, employment, and community participation. Responsibilities include: Participating in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings Facilitating social skills instruction and small-group lessons Providing behavioral, social-emotional, and crisis support to students as needs arise Collaborating with transition staff, related service providers, families, and community partners Occasionally accompanying and supporting students during community-based instruction and outings Assisting in promoting student independence, self-advocacy, and successful community engagement District Vision Our inclusive culture will inspire, empower and lead all learners to realize their full potential and make a positive difference in their future and community.
