Common diagnoses/Types of patients Interventional cardiology, structural heart, peripheral vascular (EP and IR are separate, but nurses may float between departments)
Job Duties Scrub and monitor
Experience or 'Must have' skills Must have competence and prior experience in the Cath Lab
EMR/Equipment Epic, Merge
Cardiologist hours/on call Cases typically scheduled 7-5:30 with on call services 24/7
Is there a manager/Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? only one shift
Cath Lab Techs
Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) The supervisor makes the schedule
Weeknight/Call Requirements Yes
Weekend/Call Requirements Yes
Holiday/Call Requirements Yes
What is call response time? 30 minutes
Floating Requirements On occassion, there may be a need to float to other procedural areas based upon census
Scrub Color/Dress Code Scrubs provided
