Customer Service Representative - Patient Registration

Location: Ascension St. Vincent Anderson Hospital Shift Hours: Full Time Monday—Friday 2:30 pm‑11:00 pm rotating weekends and holidays. As our Customer Service Representative , you’ll help patients check into the hospital. It is fast‑paced at times, and you’ll be the person they rely on to answer questions during registration. You’ll build trust by collecting information accurately and quickly while listening with compassion to address their fears, concerns, and questions. To thrive in this role you must be a confident multitasker, a quick study with technology, and able to type and answer phones. No prior healthcare experience is required; the workplace may expose you to illness and injuries. We provide full training, so this is a great starting point to launch a healthcare career. You must also be up to date on all vaccinations, pass a drug test, and pass a background check before hire. Responsibilities Work on computers and answer phones to intake patient information in a busy environment, using multiple screens and systems. Collect patient and insurance details, ensuring accuracy while working alongside clinicians who may interrupt registration for emergent care. Provide compassionate support to patients who may be ill or anxious, asking follow‑up questions and building rapport in real time. Operate efficiently in a fast‑paced setting, often on your feet, and handle unexpected variations in health plans and coverage. Requirements High School Diploma or GED Excellent customer service experience Compensation: Base pay range is $14.50 – $18.99 per hour.
