Legal Billing Specialist
NRI
NRI Staffing is seeking an experienced Legal Billing Coordinator for a law firm client in Chantilly, VA. This role is responsible for managing the full legal billing cycle, including invoice preparation, e-billing submissions, billing compliance, accounts receivable support, and attorney collaboration.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Aderant Expert Sierra and BillBlast and be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced legal environment.
Responsibilities
- Generate, review, edit, and finalize legal invoices using Aderant Expert Sierra
- Manage complex billing arrangements including split billing and task-based billing codes
- Submit invoices through various client e-billing platforms using BillBlast
- Monitor invoice submissions and resolve billing rejections, deductions, and short-pay issues
- Ensure compliance with Outside Counsel Guidelines (OCGs), billing requirements, and client budgets
- Review and maintain accurate Work in Progress (WIP) records
- Partner with attorneys and legal staff to address billing questions and accrual requests
- Track unbilled time and assist with aging accounts receivable and collections efforts
- Prepare billing and financial reports as needed
- Maintain accurate client and matter billing records
