Required Certifications & License

• Active Alaska (AK) RN License required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required
• PALS preferred

Requirements

The Long Term Care Registered Nurse (LTC RN) provides direct nursing care to residents in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility. The RN is responsible for assessing patient conditions, administering medications and treatments, monitoring residents’ health status, and coordinating care with physicians and healthcare staff to ensure quality patient outcomes.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care to geriatric and long-term care residents
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and changes
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments as prescribed
• Develop and update individualized patient care plans
• Respond to emergencies and provide appropriate interventions
• Supervise CNAs/LPNs and support nursing staff as needed
• Maintain accurate patient records and charting
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and care needs
• Follow infection control, safety, and facility protocols
• Coordinate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams #9581
