The job of Assistant Principal - South Kitsap High School is to be a partner in leading the building's curriculum and instructional programs, including the building's Special Education program, and working with staff, students, and families to ensure quality educational program offerings. Education and Experience:
- Valid Washington State Principal's Certificate;
- Master's degree in educational administration or related field;
- Minimum of five (5) years successful secondary school teaching or support experience preferred;
- Academic background in staff supervision, staff development, and curriculum instruction.
- Has the ability to see things from a fresh and innovative perspective;
- Values and celebrates diversity;
- Provides instructional leadership and supervision for school staff, including evaluation of assigned staff;
- Acts as a leader for the building's curriculum and instructional program, including the building's Special Education program, and working with staff, students, and parents to ensure quality educational program offerings;
- Understands the state testing program (SBAC) as well as the value of the PSAT;
- Operates as a member of a professional learning community/collaborative school and district-level management team;
- Values student achievement and recognizes top performers;
- Establishes a commitment to the South Kitsap community and its students;
- Fosters strong support and equal opportunities for all students.
