Position Summary The Extraction Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day execution and oversight of extraction operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role leads frontline teams, coordinates processes from fruit intake through extraction and shipment, and partners cross-functionally to meet production goals. This position plays a key role in driving operational excellence, maintaining regulatory compliance (GMP, HACCP, safety), and fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Operations & Production Oversee daily extraction operations including fruit receiving, sorting, unloading, extraction, drumming, and filling Coordinate acceptance and processing of incoming fruit to ensure quality and efficiency Manage oil extraction processes from start to shipment readiness Coordinate shipping of juice, byproducts, and scrap materials Monitor production output and ensure adherence to schedules and KPIs Maintain accurate production records and reporting metrics Leadership & Team Management Supervise, coach, and develop extraction team members Schedule staffing to ensure 24/7 operational coverage during peak seasons Lead performance management activities including hiring, training, evaluations, and corrective actions Foster a culture of engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement Safety, Quality & Compliance Enforce all safety programs and proactively address workplace risks and behaviors Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, environmental, and regulatory requirements Partner with QA to maintain product specifications and resolve quality issues Support development and continuous improvement of SOPs and training programs Analyze operational data to identify process improvements and efficiency gains Lead initiatives to reduce waste, improve yields, and optimize performance Promote sustainable practices aligned with Sun Orchard’s mission Collaborate with Maintenance, QA, Procurement, and Supply Chain to resolve issues and improve workflows Cross-Functional Coordination Partner with Procurement, Production, and QA on extraction planning Coordinate facility readiness and equipment uptime with Maintenance Support special programs, including community or sustainability initiatives (e.g., food bank operations) Qualifications Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent 3+ years of manufacturing or extraction operations experience 1+ year of supervisory or team leadership experience Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety standards, and production environments Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field Experience in juice, beverage, or food processing industry 5+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies Experience with ERP/MES systems and production data analysis Core Competencies Leadership: Ability to motivate, develop, and lead diverse teams Operational Excellence: Strong understanding of production flow and process optimization Analytical Thinking: Data-driven decision-making and problem-solving Communication: Ability to effectively engage across teams and leadership levels Safety Mindset: Commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant workplace Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, 24/7 production environment Manufacturing and production setting with exposure to: Moving mechanical equipment, forklifts, and noise Citrus fumes, airborne particles, and varying temperatures Ability to stand, walk, climb, and perform physical tasks as needed Nights, weekends, and extended hours during peak season Availability for off-shift meetings and operational support Why Join Sun Orchard?
