Interior Designer

Job Summary An innovative leader responsible for the La‑Z‑Boy In‑Home Design program, translating client needs into actionable design concepts, conducting in‑home consultations, and fortifying sales teams with design expertise. The role elevates the design culture and upholds the company’s ethos around people, processes, products, and brand. Key Responsibilities Promote the La‑Z‑Boy In‑Home Design program; draft potential design solutions and present customized portfolio presentations to meet or surpass store and individual sales goals. Schedule and conduct in‑home consultations to understand each client’s unique needs, preferences, and vision. Partner with Store and Sales Managers to coach, train, and support sales teams, improving design culture, product knowledge, sales techniques, and overall performance. Create design concepts and digital presentations with finish selections, furnishings, and décor that reflect the client’s lifestyle, taste, and budget. Ensure proper execution of all systems and administrative procedures; support store management with weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings and special projects. Adhere to legal and efficient accounting practices; uphold brand visual standards by maintaining cleanliness in employee and customer areas. Maintain operational excellence and contribute to the store’s financial health, team morale, overall customer experience, and community reputation. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Experience: 2‑3 years in sales or interior design with a residential emphasis. Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and computer‑aided design programs; strong interpersonal communication; analytical, goal‑oriented; adept at team management and customer service. Other: Ability to work business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays; valid driver’s license. Preferred Requirements Design Certification. Advanced interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills; business acumen; entrepreneurial spirit. Experience building effective relationships. Supervisory Responsibilities None. Physical Demands / Work Environment Lift/carry up to 50 pounds. Operate motor vehicle. Stand for long periods; use repetitive hand motions; sit, walk, bend, and stoop. Work in indoor conditions; pass background and drug screen. Compensation & Benefits Base Pay: $26,000 per year. Commission & Bonus: Uncapped commission on written sales – 3.5% on La‑Z‑Boy Design Sales, 2% on other sales. Up to $2,000 monthly bonus based on meeting sales goals.
