About the Position

Job Title: Clinical Services - Cardiology RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Clinical Services - Cardiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Accepts travelers with 1 year of experience and first-time travelers with IR experience License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Must have IR and Neuro experience, including strokes, bleeds, TIPS, and Carotid Stenting - Ability to work independently Description: This facility is a Level III Trauma Center. It has a Level III NICU and is Magnet Designated. The facility is also a Comprehensive Stroke Center. There are 933 beds available. The department is staffed 24/7. All patients are adults; no pediatric cases are treated. This role involves general interventional radiology (IR) procedures including kyphoplasty, central line placements, PICCs, ports, fistulograms, IVC filters, nephrostomy tubes, nephroureteral stents, peripheral leg cases, and coil embolizations. Neuro IR experience is required for this role, involving strokes and embolization procedures. Patients treated can average around 40-50 per day. RNs will administer sedation unless anesthesia is involved and will monitor and chart accordingly. The unit is supported by both coordinators and lead techs. Two techs are available in each exam room; an additional tech may assist for more complex cases. Respiratory Therapy and Clientist services are available 24/7. CNA/Transporter support is also available continuously, and staff may assist in transporting their own patients. EMR used is EPIC, with experience preferred for RNs. IV pumps and medication dispensing systems are in place. Additional equipment used includes Siemens and GE devices; experience preferred but not required for certain equipment. There is no floating between units. Orientation involves a preceptor for 1-2 weeks. Weekend rotations and call shifts are required, with specifics on scheduling provided. Travelers will only take Neuro call if they have relevant experience; otherwise, they will take General IR call only. If the shift is overnight, there is no on-call requirement for that shift. Response time for emergency procedures is expected to be within 30 minutes. Holiday expectations may change; currently, no holidays are required except for potential call. RTO approval can extend up to 7 days. The scrub color is provided, and access to parking is granted. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work independently in a high-demand environment.
