Shipping & Receiving TechnicianLocation: Kansas City, MoJob Type: Full-TimePay: $25-$30per hour based on experiencePosition SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Shipping & Receiving Technician to join a busy manufacturing environment in Kansas City, Mo. This position will be responsible for receiving materials, picking and pulling orders, preparing shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, and safely moving materials throughout the facility.The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing or warehouse environment.Key ResponsibilitiesReceive and verify incoming deliveries, both physically and through computer systemsProcess outgoing shipments accurately, efficiently, and on schedulePick, pull, stage, and move materials and finished productsSupport production employees by fulfilling material and order requestsLoad and unload materials and shipments using forklifts and other material-handling equipmentPrepare finished products for shipment by verifying inventory, locations, and shipping requirementsBuild shipping crates as needed for large or finished equipmentMove products between production, warehouse, and shipping areasMaintain accurate inventory records and update material locationsPerform cycle counts and physical inventory as requiredInvestigate and resolve inventory discrepanciesAssist with processing returns to suppliersComplete shipping, receiving, inventory, and warehouse documentationMaintain an organized, clean, and safe work environmentFollow all company safety procedures and material-handling guidelinesIdentify opportunities to improve warehouse and material-flow processesPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsHigh school diploma or GEDAt least 2 years of shipping, receiving, warehouse, or material-handling experiencePrevious forklift experience preferredExperience working in a manufacturing environment preferredFamiliarity with warehouse management or inventory management systemsBasic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft OfficeUnderstanding of inventory control and material flowStrong organizational and time-management skillsExcellent attention to detailBasic math skillsAbility to communicate effectively and work as part of a teamAbility to identify problems and assist with finding solutionsStrong commitment to workplace safetyPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periods, including 8+ hours per dayFrequently bend, kneel, squat, reach, climb, and move throughout the facilityAbility to lift and move materials weighing up to 60 poundsAbility to safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipmentComfortable working in a manufacturing environment with moderate to high noise levelsExpress Employment Professionals is one of the leading staffing companies in the United States and Canada.
