This isn’t just a job, it’s a chance to lead innovation, engineer impact, and build a legacy of excellence.Primary ResponsibilitiesIn the role of Structural Engineer, we'll count on you to:Have proficient understanding of building gravity and lateral analysis as well as design of steel, concrete, and masonry systemsBe proficient in the use of Revit to model the building elements that you designDesign engineering systems for large complex buildings in Health, Civic, Education and/or Science/Technology industriesReview structural documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines and coordinate with other disciplines on resolutions.Mentor younger staff on contract document development, performing calculations, and code interpretations.Develop drawings, write and edit structural specifications, select procedures, materials and their respective sizes, interpret code provisions, and complete necessary calculationsCommunicate effectively to all disciplines on the team.Participate in quality control reviews and collaboratively resolve issues.Throughout construction of the building you will need to respond to requests for information, change proposal requests, shop drawings, and change orders, and incorporate agreed-upon changes into the project documentsPreferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Master’s degree in Architectural Engineering; Structural emphasisSEPreference given to local candidatesQualificationsRequired Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license. Previous structural engineer experience Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, RISA, Staad, SAP, Tedds, RAM, ETABS, SAFE or similarPrevious experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We BelieveHDR is our company.
