WHAS11, TEGNA's ABC affiliate in Louisville, KY is seeking a dynamic, tech‑savvy Meteorologist/Multi Skilled Journalist to bring innovative weather coverage to our viewers across broadcast, digital, and social platforms. If you're a creative self‑starter with a passion for weather and storytelling, we want you to be part of our team! In this role, you will create and produce real‑time weather content for on air, digital and our streaming platform, from live coverage to in‑depth forecasts, providing our audience with up‑to‑the‑minute information and engaging stories. You'll work alongside our other meteorologists to enhance weather stories with graphics, animations, and social media engagement. Responsibilities Use your meteorology expertise to monitor weather systems and work directly with our Chief Meteorologist to deliver accurate forecasts. Utilize your MSJ skills to shoot, edit, and produce content across broadcast, digital, and streaming platforms, including live coverage of breaking weather events. Work with the weather team to develop original content to enhance our weather coverage. Research and create engaging weather stories, integrating video, images, social media, and user‑generated content to drive engagement across all platforms. Brought urgency and immediacy to your work, responding to breaking weather events and delivering live updates as they happen. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Meteorology, Geoscience or Atmospheric Science At least 1 year of professional meteorology and content production experience preferred, with hands‑on MSJ experience a plus. Strong video editing skills and ability to produce high‑quality content. Proficient at posting content to various websites and social media; computer literacy required, including weather and newsroom computer systems. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Contributions made up to the first 4% of pay are eligible for a 100% match from the company and are 100% vested from day one. Regardless of participation in TEGNA medical plans, ALL employees and their eligible family members receive nine free virtual doctor's appointments with a physician through Teladoc, and 12 free annual therapy sessions with a licensed clinician through Spring Health.
