Job Description


The visiting instructional faculty member shall have the primary
responsibility of teaching and shall be held accountable for these
obligations as they contribute to the attainment of the mission of the
University, the School, and the Department. The position is for one
year with the possibility of renewal for a second year at the mutual
agreement of the law school and visiting faculty member.
The Lincoln Memorial University Duncan School of Law in Knoxville,
Tennessee ("LMU Law") is seeking applications to fill visiting faculty
positions for the 2026-2027 academic year. The full-time teaching
positions would begin as soon as July 6, 2026 and no later than August
3, 2026. The positions are for one year with the possibility of renewal
for a second year at the mutual agreement of the law school and
visiting faculty member. The visiting faculty members will teach
required courses in subjects that may include, but not be limited to:
Property I and II, Legal Writing, Legal Research, and Academic and Bar
Success courses

Required Qualifications


Requirements for the visiting faculty position include a J.D.
degree; bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction (may be
inactive); a superior academic record; practice experience and/or
teaching experience; a commitment to incorporating innovative
teaching methods, including technology and practical skills; and
dedication to the mission of LMU Law. The position would be ideal
for a practicing attorney who is considering a transition to a
career in academia.
