Occupational Therapy - Occupational Therapist (OT)
Occupational Therapist assignment in a Skilled Nursing Facility or rehab setting with 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday. Start and end times are flexible as long as they remain consistent and are coordinated with the Director of Rehab. This role focuses on evaluating and treating patients with cognitive and ADL-related functional impairments, helping them regain independence and improve quality of life. The OT will manage a caseload, develop individualized care plans, and contribute to interdisciplinary collaboration. No weekend requirements, while any on-call schedule will be determined by the facility.
Responsibilities include evaluating patients, developing treatment plans, and implementing therapy interventions such as ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, exercises, modalities, and use of assistive devices. The OT will monitor patient progress, modify treatment plans based on outcomes, and document all care accurately in the electronic medical record. The clinician will provide education to patients, families, and caregivers, participate in care conferences and rehab meetings, and contribute to discharge planning. The clinician may also supervise occupational therapy assistants, rehab aides, or students, while ensuring compliance with regulatory, clinical, and facility standards.
