The team partners closely with business owners and executive leadership to define and execute a global investment strategy, supporting both early-stage startups (Seed–Series B) and established product partners (Series A+). The Role: Atlassian is seeking a Head of Ventures to lead the investment strategy across all markets. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Development, you will work hand-in-hand with product and GTM leaders to identify, evaluate, and execute strategic opportunities. You will play a critical role in shaping Atlassian’s inorganic growth path over the long run. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership: Set and evolve the Ventures investment strategy in alignment with company objectives, ensuring investments drive long-term growth and innovation. Investment & Portfolio Management: Oversee the full investment lifecycle—from sourcing to close—managing a diverse, global portfolio and maximizing value creation. Team Leadership: Manage and develop a high-performing, collaborative team of investors and portfolio leads. Market Engagement: Maintain strong relationships to stay ahead of industry trends and identify new opportunities. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with leaders across Product, Engineering, and other functions to ensure strategic alignment. Operational Excellence: Drive improvements in reporting, financial analysis, and investment reviews. Qualifications Bachelors or Masters in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in investing, business development, strategic partnerships, corporate development, or related deal roles. Demonstrated track record of venture capital investing (or strong angel investing/founding experience). Deep understanding of enterprise technologies and the startup ecosystem. Ability to navigate and collaborate in a large, matrixed, complex organization. Compensation Zone A (e.g., SF/NY): $246,600 – $321,950 base pay. Zone B: $222,300 – $290,225 base pay.
