Certified Medical Assistant

Pride Health is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant to support our client's healthcare facility in Edinburg, TX 78539.

Job Details:
Schedule: Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm with a 1 hour lunch.
Location: Edinburg, TX 78539
Job Type: Local contract
Contract Length: 3+ months (Possibility of extension or conversion)
Pay Range: $21/hr to $23.40/hour*
*Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.


Duties:

• Performs clinical Medical Assistant duties including patient rooming, specimen collection, venipuncture/capillary draws, EKGs, non-IV medication administration, wound care, dressing changes, and staple removal.
• Operates diagnostic equipment, performs equipment quality control checks, and prepares/sterilizes medical instruments using an autoclave.
• Prepares patients for examinations, accurately documents patient care in the medical record, and coordinates care as directed by providers.
• Maintains exam and treatment rooms by stocking, cleaning, sterilizing instruments, and following standard infection control precautions.
• Provides basic telephone and in-person intake, gathers patient information without clinical judgment, maintains confidentiality, and follows established policies, procedures, and Standard Delegation of Orders (SDO).

Requirements:

• Education: High school graduate or GED equivalent
• Certification(s): Medical Assistant Certificate
• Years of experience: 2+ years
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
