LABOR RELATIONS SPECIALIST II (SR-22) [1 vacancy]

Labor Relations Specialist II
The Honolulu Police Department is hiring a Labor Relations Specialist II in Honolulu. This position performs a variety of technical work in the resolution of grievances. What you will do:
- Manage grievance processes across all collective bargaining agreements and Civil Service procedures, including planning, coordination, and oversight.
- Represent the department in hearings before labor boards, commissions, and quasi-judicial bodies on grievance and contract issues.
- Lead grievance resolution efforts, including research, contract interpretation, and handling cases through Step III and arbitration.
- Advise and train staff on labor relations, laws, contracts, and union-management practices to ensure compliance and consistency.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualification requirements:
- At time of application, you must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.
- Education requirement: Equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with specialization in public or business administration, psychology or a related field.
- Experience requirement: Two years of progressively responsible professional experience in personnel management, one of which must have been in labor relations.
- License requirement: Possession of a valid driver's license (automobile/Type 3), prior to appointment.
