Strong stepdown and progressive care unit experience is required. ACLS and BLS certifications are mandatory. Candidates should possess skills in telemetry, PCU, and stepdown nursing. Interpretation of dysrhythmias and management protocols are essential. Experience in IV insulin protocols and titration of insulin drips is necessary. Both central and peripheral line care and management experience are required. Candidates will be required to float to various units as necessary. Every other weekend shift is mandatory, with Sunday considered a regular working day. The patient population consists of adults and geriatrics with a wide variety of diagnoses. Interdisciplinary support includes various medical services such as respiratory therapy and social services. The unit contains specialized equipment, including IV ultrasound machines and bladder scanners. Compliance with credentialing processes is crucial for timely placement. References from previous employers must be provided upon request.
