Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years acute inpatient telemetry RN experience License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Patient Assessment - Care Plan Development - Care Plan Implementation - Care Plan Evaluation - Patient Education Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse focuses on safe and effective patient and family-centered care. Customer satisfaction and quality outcomes are priorities. The RN is responsible for maintaining a financially stable unit. The RN promotes personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. Supervision of licensed and non-licensed staff members is a key responsibility. The RN applies the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care. Responsibilities include assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. The RN emphasizes patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. Quality care is delivered using the RN’s educational and professional experiences. Mentoring and precepting staff is part of the role. Job Responsibilities: Assessment: Performs assessments and reassessments per policy or as warranted by patient condition. Demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. Development & Implementation: Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care. Reviews and revises the plan as indicated. Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services. Utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of patients and families. Evaluation: Monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions. Education: Facilitates and coordinates education specific to patient and family needs. Leadership: Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. Functions as a mentor and preceptor. Encourages and facilitates teamwork. Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement. Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts. Implements practice changes and complies with regulatory standards. Participates in the governance model.
