About the Role:

BLUFIN SUSHI BAR LLC is looking for a talented and passionate Sushi Chef to join our team in Grosse Pointe, MI! Responsibilities:

• Prepare and present high-quality sushi, sashimi, nigiri, and specialty rolls with consistency and artistry
• Source, inspect, and handle fresh fish and seafood following strict food safety standards
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked sushi station throughout service
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth, timely service during peak hours
• Develop and contribute to new menu items and seasonal specials
• Monitor inventory, minimize waste, and assist with ordering fresh ingredients as needed
• Uphold all health, sanitation, and food handling regulations at all times

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or Sushi Cook in a professional kitchen setting
• Proficiency in traditional Japanese knife skills and sushi rice preparation
• Strong knowledge of fish butchery, seafood selection, and freshness standards
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Food handler certification or ServSafe certification preferred
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to presentation and quality
• Reliable, team-oriented, and passionate about Japanese culinary arts
