Senior Technical Accounting Analyst

Our client, a global technology and manufacturing company, is seeking a Senior Technical Accounting Analyst to support complex accounting, financial reporting, and policy matters.

Location:

San Jose, CA. This role is on-site five days per week.

Job Description: 

This role will partner with Finance, Legal, Procurement, Engineering, IT, Operations, and external auditors to develop well-supported accounting conclusions and reliable reporting outcomes. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent research and writing skills, and the ability to communicate complex topics clearly across the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Support the preparation of external financial statements, disclosures, and regulatory filings in accordance with U.S. GAAP
• Coordinate reporting timelines and prepare supporting documentation, disclosure checklists, and filing-related workpapers
• Assist with structured reporting requirements and respond to feedback from auditors, legal counsel, and internal stakeholders
• Research complex accounting matters and prepare clear, well-supported technical accounting analyses
• Review contracts to identify recognition, measurement, classification, capitalization, and disclosure considerations
• Support statutory financial reporting for international entities
• Monitor new accounting guidance and evaluate its potential impact on existing business activities
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting policies, reporting processes, systems, and controls through standardization and automation
• Participate in special projects and other technical accounting and financial reporting initiatives

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred
• 4+ years of progressive experience in technical accounting, financial reporting, public accounting, or a related function
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and experience researching and documenting complex accounting matters
• Experience with external financial reporting, statutory reporting, or public-company accounting requirements
• Strong analytical, writing, communication, and project management skills, with proficiency in Excel and experience using ERP or financial reporting systems
