Supervisory Public Affairs Specialist

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST in the PUBLIC AFFAIRS OFFICE (PAO) of COMNAVREG SE JAX. Qualifications Managing oversight of day-to-day responsibilities and manning requirements for a public affairs team. Providing policy development, implementation, and execution in support of public affairs communication strategies, missions, goals, and objectives. Building and maintaining close working relationships with key influencers from various trade and professional associations. Providing communication counsel and public affairs leadership in editing and releasing informational materials such as press releases, videos, photographs, stories, interviews, speeches, key leader talking points, etc. Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management web site: Physical Demands Position is sedentary, with some walking, bending, negotiating shipboard ladders and aircraft, light lifting, night and weekend work. Travel Travel is required to periodically visit commands within the Commander's AOR to help establish public affairs programs, conduct liaison and training, and respond to emergent situations. Work Environment Work is normally conducted in an office setting; however, the incumbent may be required to inspect field sites. Exposure to inclement weather conditions, as well as areas infested with snakes and reptiles, may also be factors of the work environment. May occasionally wear protective equipment, including respirators, hearing protection, and various types of protective clothing during walk-through surveys/inspections.
