About the Role
The Company is in search of a Senior Advisor - Environmental Approvals to join their team on a 14-month fixed-term basis. The successful candidate will be the environmental lead for pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, with a focus on securing environmental approvals for a significant open-cut mining operation. This role involves engaging with technical professionals, managing project environmental risks, and ensuring compliance with the company's standards and applicable legislation. The ideal candidate will have a degree in environmental sciences, engineering, or a related field, and approximately ten years' experience in sustainable development within the mining industry, particularly in the areas of environmental planning, technical studies, and approvals. Knowledge of Australian environmental legislation, especially in Queensland, and experience in regulator and stakeholder engagement strategies are essential. Applicants for the Senior Advisor - Environmental Approvals position at the company should be adept at complex problem-solving, have well-developed communication skills, and be capable of working with limited supervision. The role requires the ability to travel to the project site and a willingness to engage in stakeholder management, including with regulatory agencies. The candidate will be expected to provide technical expertise in environmental and community aspects, contribute to the development of stakeholder engagement strategies, and participate in project meetings and site visits.
