Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Oncology RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of Med/Surg/Tele experience and a TN or compact RN license.

• Weekend rotation required every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating to other units when needed
• Travelers do not administer chemotherapy
• Epic charting system experience preferred

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• AHA BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Med/Surg/Tele experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, port access/management, central line blood draws, PICC line management, and peripheral line care preferred
• Experience with blood product administration, wound care/wound vac, and isolation precautions/PPE preferred
• Experience with colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management, and medication administration (Heparin, Insulin, PCA) preferred
• Respiratory care skills including nasal cannula and oral suctioning preferred

Additional Information

• Care for patients within a Medical Surgical Oncology unit
• General orientation begins on Sundays with online computer-based learning modules
• Orientation includes approximately 4-5 hours of non-billable module completion
• Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines
• Must be willing to complete a drug test within 12-14 calendar days prior to start, with possible second lab visit if needed
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
