Patient Access Coordinator

Position Summary: We are seeking a Patient Access Coordinator to join our NSU Health dynamic team. In this front-facing role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a smooth and professional experience from registration to payment. You will support front desk operations and coordinate administrative functions within our medical offices, upholding the highest standards in customer service and compliance. What You'll Do: Handle front desk operations, including patient registration and financial transactions related to Medicaid, Medicare, HMO, and vision insurance. Schedule patient appointments to ensure smooth workflow. Address and resolve patient concerns and inquiries in a courteous, timely manner. Assist with corrections of diagnosis and procedure codes to ensure accurate billing and revenue capture. Navigate and resolve internal and external requests using a comprehensive understanding of NSU policies and healthcare regulations. Perform other related duties as assigned. What We’re Looking For: Education: o High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of customer service or administrative experience OR an associate degree and 1 year of relevant experience Skills & Knowledge: o Strong customer service orientation and communication skills o Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) o Basic knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA compliance o Experience with Electronic Medical Records (preferred) o Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Haitian Creole (preferred) Why NSU?
