ABOUT THE ROLE:

Executive Roofing Systems is looking for an experienced Commercial Roofing Estimator to join our growing team. This is a key role within our organization, responsible for turning opportunities into accurate, well planned roofing projects. Our Estimator owns the estimating process from roof assessment and takeoff through proposal development, bid submission, and ultimately the handoff of awarded work to Production.

We are looking for someone who understands commercial roofing, pays attention to the details, thinks ahead, and takes ownership of their work. Someone who can look beyond the numbers, identify potential challenges before they become problems, and help set both our customers and production team up for success.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN:

Accurate Takeoffs & Cost Estimates:

• Review drawings, specifications, site conditions, and project requirements.
• Complete accurate material and labor takeoffs for commercial roofing projects.
• Develop complete project estimates including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, logistics, and other project costs.
• Identify scope gaps, project risks, exclusions, and conditions that could impact pricing or execution.

Roof Inspections & Scope Development:

• Perform field inspections and roof surveys when required.
• Evaluate existing roof systems, conditions, measurements, drainage, penetrations, details, and project logistics.
• Document field conditions and develop clear scopes of work.
• Help determine appropriate roofing systems and solutions based on project conditions and customer needs.

Proposals & Bid Submission:

• Develop clear, professional, and complete proposals.
• Prepare and submit bids within required deadlines.
• Review specifications, addenda, RFIs, manufacturer requirements, and other bid documents.
• Ensure pricing and scope are accurate before proposals are released.

Sales Team Partnership:

• Work closely with the Sales team throughout the opportunity and estimating process.
• Provide technical expertise to help develop the right roofing solution for each customer.
• Participate in project reviews and customer conversations when technical estimating support is needed.
• Help ensure opportunities move efficiently from assessment through proposal.

Client & Vendor Relationships:

• Communicate professionally with customers, general contractors, manufacturers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Request and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
• Develop strong vendor relationships that support competitive pricing and successful project execution.
• Represent Executive Roofing with responsiveness, professionalism, and a customer first mindset.

Project Handoff to Production:

• Own a complete and organized handoff of awarded projects to the Production team.
• Review scope, pricing assumptions, materials, labor requirements, logistics, specifications, exclusions, customer expectations, and potential project risks.
• Ensure Production has the information needed to properly plan and execute the project.
• Remain available as a technical resource when estimating or scope questions arise during production.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• 3 to 5+ years of commercial roofing estimating or relevant commercial roofing experience.
• Strong knowledge of commercial roofing systems including TPO, EPDM, PVC, modified bitumen, BUR, coatings, and metal roofing.
• Experience with manufacturers such as GAF, Carlisle, Versico, Elevate, or similar manufacturers.
• Strong understanding of roofing details, materials, installation requirements, and project logistics.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Experience performing roof measurements, takeoffs, and field inspections.
• Experience with estimating and takeoff software such as The EDGE, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, STACK, or similar platforms.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills.
• Detail oriented with a high standard for accuracy.
• Strong communicator who works well with Sales, Production, customers, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Able to manage multiple estimates, priorities, and deadlines at the same time.
