Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Med Surg 6 South unit. This role involves providing high-quality care to patients primarily in a medical-surgical telemetry setting, catering to adults and geriatrics with a variety of diagnoses.

Contract Details

• Start Date: 11/2/2026
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 3x12-Hour Nights (20:00 - 08:30)

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for:

• Providing patient-centered care to adults and geriatric patients in a mixed medical-surgical environment.
• Managing a daily census of approximately 18 patients, ensuring a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5.
• Caring for a diverse patient population with conditions such as TIA, COPD, urology issues, gynecological problems, cellulitis/wound care, palliative care, infectious diseases, and gastrointestinal disorders.
• Monitoring patients undergoing early recovery after surgery and those requiring observation for greater than 24 hours.
• Administering and monitoring patients with TR bands post-cardiac catheterization without intervention.
• Participating in patient education and discharge planning.
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of safe and effective care.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Maryland.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience in a med-surg telemetry unit is preferred.

Work Requirements

• Availability to work holidays as scheduled.
• Ability to work every other weekend.
• Floating to other units and sister facilities within the scope of practice may be required.
• No on-call duties are required for this position.
