GENERAL FUNCTION The Personal Banker II position will provide an exceptional customer experience by building and maintaining long‑lasting relationships with existing and prospective customers. They help customers understand and address their financial needs, providing solutions that span the customer lifecycle through a consultative sales and service process. The banker is responsible and accountable for risk while openly exchanging ideas, elevating concerns, and following policies and procedures. They always do the right thing for customers and colleagues, ensuring actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the bank’s risk appetite, they consistently identify, assess, manage, monitor, and report risks of all types. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Create a memorable customer experience by cultivating, maintaining, and enhancing relationships in an assigned book of business through proactive outreach efforts in person, over the phone, or through other channels as appropriate. Use a consultative approach with current or prospective customers to uncover and identify their needs while tailoring recommendations, solutions, and advice. Maintain working knowledge of products, services, and processes offered. Work collaboratively with internal partners to ensure customer needs are met and all problems are resolved. Analyze customer credit data and related financial information to ensure customers receive appropriate solutions that align with their needs. Provide customer support to reinforce the value of current and new technology. Follow the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other related policies, modeling the ethical behavior expected from every employee within the Bancorp. Perform other duties as assigned. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED High School Diploma/GED and at least 1 year of customer service experience, or a college degree, or equivalent military experience. Experience in a sales environment required; experience in the financial industry a plus. Demonstrated ability to develop comfort with new household acquisitions and deepen customer relationships. Ability to represent Fifth Third Bank professionally in verbal and written communication. Capability to analyze credit and financial information. Business acumen and sound decision‑making skills. Position requires S.A.F.E. Act registration through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) at the time of employment. WORKING CONDITIONS Normal office environment. Extended viewing of computer screens. Periodic travel within the Bancorp footprint to attend meetings and/or training.
