Position Summary Reporting to the Project Manager or Supervisor, the Store Worker 1 provides support to the Operations team that furthers our mission to help people with different abilities receive work support and development as needed. The role includes shelf stocking duties at the assigned site, moving and rotating merchandise, and maintaining the store’s appearance with a focus on safety, quality, and customer service. Key Responsibilities Inventory support: Move merchandise using non‑motorized equipment; clean merchandise on or in display fixtures. Shelf stocking: Stock, rotate, and straighten merchandise; display using a predetermined placement system. Maintain display sale area: Create a neat, salable appearance; rotate stock by expiry date; remove short‑dated, outdated, or damaged merchandise. Store support: Clear and clean aisles; mark merchandise; use a cardboard baler; separate cardboard and plastic; break down boxes; remove empty boxes and coupon rings. Employee relations: Promote company values; maintain communication with supervisors; assist with training; focus on safety, quality, and customer service; ensure high client and staff satisfaction. Qualifications High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred. High school diploma or G.E.D. (proof of education not required). Past work experience in any field; prior experience in inventory, shipping & handling, or warehouse helpful. Attention to detail and data entry skills. Must pass criminal background check and required state and federal registry checks, including the DCFS Abuse and Neglect Tracking System check. Physical Demands Occasionally sitting in a normal course of office‑sedentary work. Continually standing, walking, bending, squatting, reaching, and twisting during stocking, organizing, dusting, cleaning, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, removing trash. Occasionally listens and speaks with managers and employees. Continually visually alert to monitor the area, stocking equipment, and other workers’ actions to maintain safety and complete service duties. Continually uses hands for writing, filing, stocking, organizing, cleaning, grasping, lifting, carrying, wiping, and balancing. Continually bends, reaches, and twists; occasionally climbs stairs and/or ladders; squats and kneels. Frequently lifts, carries, and pushes or pulls up to 75 lbs of product cases, mop bucket, trash barrels, etc.; assists in team lifting as needed.
