For the majority of direct labor positions, ServiceSource will obtain documentation of a significant disability as per the JWOD Act.Salary/Hourly Rate: $25.24The General Maintenance Worker performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work. Work involves a variety of the following duties: replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors, using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings, repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets painting structures and equipment; repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks, replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles, hanging doors and installing door locks, replacing broken window panes, and performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery. Excluded are a. Craft workers included in a formal apprenticeship or progression program based on training and experience; b. Skilled craft workers required to demonstrate proficiency in one or more trades; c. Workers performing simple maintenance duties not requiring practical skill and knowledge of a trade (e.g., changing light bulbs and replacing faucet washers).Primary DutiesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. These duties and responsibilities will be rated on the Annual Performance Review.Responsible for supporting duties as assigned for Facility Maintenance, Grounds, Inventory/Warehouse, Loading Dock Freight and Material Handling.Responsible for performing basic rough and finish carpentry work and prepares various surfaces for paint, enamel, lacquer, varnish, or stain or repairs wall coverings. Assist with repair on doors, locks, hinges, ceiling tiles and other facility maintenance.Perform as Primary Backup for Mail Handling Operations.Responsible for responding in a timely manner to scheduled/unscheduled tenant requests for a variety of maintenance issues.Assists as an overall Site Maintenance support specialist while performing duties as assigned.Additional DutiesReport to supervisor any damaged racks, faulty equipment, or other safety hazard.Maintains a clean, neat, orderly work area.May perform or assist in warehouse, grounds and equipment maintenance as required.Assist in all Freight and Material Handling as needed.Complies and coordinates with all Dock master policies and procedures.Comply with OSHA guidelines Participate in all other training required by funding source(s) and/or the Corporation such as Human Rights training.Perform other responsibilities as assigned.Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Certification(s)High School Diploma, General Educational Development (GED) required.Minimum of 1-2 years' work experience in carpentry and painting required.Prior experience providing maintenance and repairs of buildings preferred.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos, labels and numbers.Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situation to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.Basic ability to operate a computer using Microsoft Office software.Ability to learn Bear Tracks Mail handling software.Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and divide.Must be able to pass criminal and drug screening processes to meet current network and/or government legibility requirements that apply or become applicable to this position.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
