Registered Nurse Emergency Room

Job Summary:

We seek a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Emergency Room (ER) care. The RN will provide skilled nursing care, patient assessments, medication administration, and treatment planning for ER patients, including those in the Observation Unit. The role requires strong collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and effective communication with patients and providers. A minimum of one year of experience and a valid California RN license are required. Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled nursing care to ER patients, including those held in the Observation Unit.
• Conduct patient assessments and administer medications as prescribed.
• Develop and implement treatment plans in coordination with the healthcare team.
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary team members to ensure quality patient care.
• Manage patient flow and care for an average daily census of approximately 105 patients.
• Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, including scrubs policy (wear own scrubs with no prints).
• Cover float assignments as required within the unit.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of California.
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in an ER or acute care setting.
• Clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced emergency care environment.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience with Observation Unit patient care.
• Previous float experience within hospital units.

Special Considerations:

• Weekend work required: 3 out of every 6 weekends.
• No call requirements.
• Travel nurse role with a maximum Return to Origin (RTO) restriction of 7 days.
• Scrub attire: own scrubs allowed, no printed patterns.
• Must cover ER Hold patients in the Observation Unit as part of float duties.

Scheduling:

• Work schedule includes weekend shifts as specified (3 out of 6 weekends).
• Shift assignments may vary; float coverage required.
• Start date: ASAP.
