Sr. Category Manager – Technology Sourcing Team at Salesforce. Responsibilities Execute sourcing strategies and manage technology sourcing projects based on current portfolio and technology stack. Negotiate, administer, and manage the full range of commercial contracts focusing on Software, SaaS and Generative AI needs. Manage relationships between Salesforce and strategic software suppliers through day‑to‑day interactions and supplier business reviews. Achieve cost‑effective procurement decisions for the company. Build and manage strategic relationships with stakeholders and suppliers. Present complex information to senior leaders. Implement software‑related supplier‑sourcing strategies to ensure high quality, on‑time delivery, and cost competitiveness. Negotiate contracts for the licensing of software, including AI complexities and token‑based pricing/consumption models. Collect data, perform spend analysis, category profiling, and analyze trends using mathematical models and statistical techniques for cost modeling. Provide category reports detailing spend and usage trends, supplier performance metrics, savings, and improvement opportunities. Support implementation of procurement best practices for cross‑functional project teams. Utilize RFI, RFP, and RFQ techniques to identify, select, and engage with suppliers to ensure competitive market advantage. Implement proactive procurement philosophies, strategies, policies, procedures, and systems to meet business requirements and cost objectives. Organize and support business reviews with suppliers, including development, preparation, and review of supplier scorecards and performance metrics. Negotiate large enterprise software engagements. Performance Objectives Build and manage strategic relationships with stakeholders and suppliers. Present complex information to senior leaders. Implement software related supplier‑sourcing strategies to ensure high quality, on time delivery, and cost competitiveness. Understand business contract law and negotiate software licensing contracts, including AI complexities. Negotiate AI solutions with firm understanding of token‑based pricing/consumption models. Collect data and perform spend analysis, category profiling, then analyze, and report data to explain economic forecast market trends, applying mathematical models and statistical techniques for cost modeling. Provide category reports detailing spend and usage trends, supplier performance metrics, savings, and improvement opportunities. Support implementation of procurement best practices for cross‑functional project teams. Utilize RFI, RFP, and RFQ techniques to identify, select, and engage with suppliers for competitive market advantage. Implement proactive procurement philosophies, strategies, policies, procedures, and systems to meet business requirements and cost objectives. Organize and support business reviews with suppliers, including development, preparation, and review of supplier scorecards and performance metrics. Negotiate large enterprise software engagements. Position Requirements BA/BS degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field with 5‑10 years of experience (or equivalent). Technical education or knowledge of Software, SaaS licensing, and Public Cloud. Strong understanding of legal concepts related to contract negotiations. Excellent relationship management skills to collaborate with suppliers, internal business customers, and senior management. Strong presentation skills and ability to analyze and explain pricing models and contract terms. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills with strong business acumen. Experience using Salesforce and Coupa is desirable. Experience in sourcing processes (RFx development and execution) and reviewing, analyzing, drafting, and negotiating contract terms for medium/high complexity projects. Works well under pressure, can multitask, and is a skilled time manager comfortable with minimal supervision.
