MAINTENANCE MECHANIC

Job TitleJob DescriptionYou will perform a variety of tasks involved in installing, maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting, modifying, and operating multiple different building systems and equipment such as pipefitting, plumbing, heating, and refrigeration.You will be installing, modifying, and repairing new and existing high-pressure piping systems and equipment such as steam-heating, steam generation, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, and circulating pumps, and radiators.You will work from building plans, blueprints, and sketches to plan and lay out the routing, placement, pitch, elevation, pressure reduction, expansion, and operation of various piping systems and equipment.You will modify, and repair new and existing utility, supply, and disposal systems and equipment such as sewage, water, oil, and gas distribution systems, water closets, tubs, fire sprinkler systems, and showers.You will examine and operationally test electric, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems and equipment using specialized test equipment.You will perform routing maintenance on small electric motors, feed pumps, and valves, including replacing brushes, seals, and bearings, and repacking valves.You will perform repairs such as replacing valve plates, broken flares, and copper tubing, repacking glands, adjusting expansion valves, replacing small electric motors, and making temporary repairs to pipes.You will check temperature sensing points in various building areas and adjust controls to meet local requirements and desires.You will start, regulate, and stop the various items of air handling equipment from central switches or from decentralized switches in fan or equipment rooms.
