Body Shop TechnicianThe Body Shop Technician is responsible for servicing and repairing equipment in the shop.Essential Functions:Ideal job for someone new to the workforce and interested in getting hands-on experience with a wide range of tools and the skills to use them:Efficient and accurate use of measurement toolsFull range of mechanics hand and pneumatic tools.Angle grindersHand drillsSandersMagnetic drillBandsawsDrill pressBench grinderCommercial painting equipmentForkliftsOxy-acetylene torchMIG WelderHydraulic hose assemblyMaterial prep and layoutHeavy equipment assemblyHydraulic system theory, engineering and assemblyPower take off installation and applicationInventory managementQualifications:Mechanical aptitude with a desire to learnLift up to 100 poundsMaintain a clean and orderly work areaConsistently work 40 hour weeksReliable transportationSome prior experience using hand and power tools is a plusTypical Physical Activity:While performing the duties of this job, the employee must have the ability to occasionally lift 100 pounds from floor to chest; reach and use the arms with a full range of motion; endure prolonged standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and squatting while performing mechanical operations; exert push and pull forces with the arms in order to use various wrenches and tools; endure prolonged forward and overhead arm positions while performing mechanical operations; use hands to grasp hand tools and parts and climb onto and operate equipment.Typical Environmental Conditions:Employee regularly works indoors around moving mechanical parts. May be exposed to weather extremes when working outside in conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity. Noise level may be loud at times. Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water, and high speed rotating equipment. Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment. Required to perform work in cramped spaces and/or high places. The Body Shop Technician must perform the essential duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation efficiently and accurately, and without causing significant safety threat to self or others.
