As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dedicated and growth-oriented Senior Accountant to drive efficiency in accounting operations. Job Description: The Senior Accountant is a client-facing, hands-on role responsible for executing and reviewing core accounting functions, ensuring accuracy of financial data, and supporting month-end close across multiple client engagements. This role requires a strong understanding of GAAP, exceptional analytical capability, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities. The ideal candidate is detail-driven, highly organized, and comfortable taking ownership of both recurring processes and special projects. They excel at managing complex workflows, maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. This role is critical to ensuring the financial integrity and operational success of both Vantage CFO and the clients we serve. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting & Close Operations Prepare, analyze, and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP. Execute key components of the month-end close process, including reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and variance analysis. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts for cash, AR/AP, fixed assets, inventory (if applicable), payroll, and prepaid/deferral accounts. Prepare and review flux analyses explaining month-over-month and year-over-year movements. Technical Accounting & Process Integrity Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal procedures, and client-specific accounting policies. Assist with implementing accounting process improvements, automation opportunities, and workflow enhancements. Support the development and documentation of SOPs, reconciliation templates, and standardized processes. Client Engagement & Business Partnering Serve as a day-to-day accounting contact for assigned clients, providing timely responses and solutions to accounting inquiries. Support Controllers, Accounting Managers, and CFOs with financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and KPI reporting. Translate financial data into meaningful insights and recommendations for clients. Assist in onboarding new clients by assessing existing financial processes and establishing accounting best practices. AP/AR & Operational Accounting Oversee full-cycle AP/AR processing, revenue recognition, expense coding, and payment workflows. Review client invoices and ensure proper documentation, approvals, and coding accuracy. Assist in cash flow monitoring, bank onboarding, and treasury-related support. Audit & Tax Support Prepare supporting schedules for annual audits, reviews, and compilations Assist with tax documentation and work papers for external tax advisors. Ensure audit readiness for year-end reporting and client compliance requirements. Special Projects & Analytical Support Support complex projects such as system migrations, cleanup of legacy financials, process transformation, and new client implementations. Conduct ad hoc reporting, financial modeling support, and deeper dives into account-level detail as required. Qualifications: 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with exposure to both public accounting and industry. Prior experience in outsourced accounting, multi-client environments, or multi-entity accounting strongly preferred. Demonstrated experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Technical Skills Strong command of U.S. GAAP and general ledger systems. Proficiency with QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite, FreshBooks, or equivalent cloud accounting platforms. Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, data validation, basic modeling). Ability to analyze large data sets and distill insights clearly.
