Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - 2 years of ICU experience - Experience with basic ICU equipment Description: The ICU team is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse. The position involves providing care to critically ill patients. Ratios typically are 1:2 patients per nurse. Common cases include pneumonia, ventilation management, post-cardiac catheterization care, and various critical conditions such as ARDS and renal failure. Familiarity with common drips such as Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Levophed is necessary. Candidates may need to float to other units if experienced. Support staff includes Patient Care Technicians and Health Unit Secretaries. The nurse manager may assist with patient care when needed. A respiratory therapist is available in the unit 24/7. The unit features modern equipment utilized for patient care. Weekend shifts are required as part of the scheduling. Nurses can block schedule as needed to accommodate preferences. The number of ventilators typically ranges from 1 to 2. Experience with cardiac interventions is highly valued. Monitor and manage patient responses to medications and interventions effectively. Candidates should be prepared for a fast-paced environment. Ensure compliance with protocols and provide high-quality patient care.
