Head of Software Engineering

I’m partnering with an innovative MedTech company developing a Software as a Medical Device platform designed to improve clinical decision-making and patient outcomes.
They are looking for a Software Engineer to help design, build and scale secure, reliable software within a regulated medical-device environment.
The role will involve:
- Developing and maintaining production-grade SaMD applications
- Building scalable backend services, APIs and cloud infrastructure
- Translating clinical and product requirements into reliable software
- Improving system performance, security and data integrity
- Supporting software verification, validation and technical documentation
- Participating in code reviews, testing and release management
- Working cross-functionally with Product, Clinical, Quality and Regulatory teams
- Contributing to the company’s software architecture and development roadmap
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Commercial software-engineering experience using modern programming languages and cloud technologies
- Experience building secure, scalable and highly available applications
- Strong knowledge of software testing, version control and CI/CD
- The ability to work effectively within a cross-functional product-development team
- Experience within MedTech, digital health or another regulated industry
Experience with IEC 62304, ISO 13485, cybersecurity requirements, clinical data or FDA-regulated software would be particularly valuable.
