Schedule/Shift

12-hour Night Shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with 36 hours guaranteed.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) will collaborate with physicians to create and implement patient care plans aimed at facilitating optimal health recovery. The RN will provide bedside nursing care, carry out medical orders, and ensure effective delegation and oversight of care tasks to nursing assistants and other support staff. The position requires evaluation of care plan effectiveness and participation in patient conferences as part of discharge and transfer planning.

Responsibilities

• Integrate evidence-based knowledge into nursing practice.
• Delegate and coordinate nursing care tasks and assignments.
• Facilitate and participate in planning conferences for patient discharge/transfer.
• Identify patient teaching needs and communicate with relevant resource persons.
• Engage in professional growth through educational opportunities.
• Precept and mentor new employees and nursing students.
• Function as a team leader to ensure appropriate patient placement and task delegation.

Required Experience

• 2+ years of ICU experience.
• Open-heart surgery experience.
• Comfortable floating to the Emergency Department and Step Down units.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA).
• NIHSS certification.
• State licensure as a Registered Nurse in Michigan.
• TCAR, TNCC, CCRN or SCRN certifications are a plus.
