About the Position

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for a 12-week contract at a rural 24-bed Critical Access Hospital. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and pediatric patients while collaborating with physicians and the healthcare team. Candidates with Orthopedic, Cardiac, Pediatric, Telemetry, and EPIC experience are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to Med/Surg patients.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols.
• Care for adult, pediatric, orthopedic, cardiac, and telemetry patients.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and communicate appropriately with the healthcare team.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation in EPIC.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and facility policies.
• Provide patient and family education as appropriate.
• Participate in weekend and holiday coverage as scheduled.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Active Wisconsin RN License Required
• Minimum 5 years of RN experience
• Med/Surg experience required
• BLS/BCLS required
• ACLS required
• Pediatric, Orthopedic, Cardiac, and Telemetry experience preferred
• EPIC experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and every other weekend
