Production Manager - Signage

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Production Manager to join our team. The Production Manager is responsible for scheduling and coordinating all production work orders for the sign manufacturing operation. This role ensures all job details are fully accurate and ready for production by verifying quantities, materials, shop drawings, and engineering details before releasing work to the production floor. The Production Manager acts as the communication bridge between Sales, Project Management, Design/Engineering, and Production to keep workflow on schedule, minimize delays, and support on-time and on-budget delivery. Key Responsibilities Oversee all in-house sign production activities. Ensure all signs are manufactured to specification, drawing, and applicable code requirements. Develop, maintain, and communicate daily and weekly production schedules. Assign workload across production work cells based on shop capacity, timelines, and priorities. Routinely coordinate with Project Managers and sales teams to align production timelines. Develop and review production work orders to confirm scope, quantities, materials, and specifications. Create, review, and maintain accurate bills of materials (BOMs) for all signage projects. Ensure all required files correct before releasing the job. Verify that design/engineering details align with production specifications. Collaborate with procurement teams to source materials based on BOM requirements. Track material usage and inventory levels to prevent shortages. Work with vendors and suppliers to secure high-quality materials at competitive prices. Track production costs and provide regular reports to senior management. Support Production by providing schedules, job packets, and updates in real time. Track job progress through each production stage and identify delays or constraints. Maintain accurate job start/completion dates in relevant company systems. Qualifications & Required Experience Minimum of five years of experience in signage production planning and scheduling. Strong understanding of shop drawings, signage materials, hardware, and manufacturing processes. Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and pivot quickly. Strong communication skills and ability to work across departments. Physical Requirements Ability to work in a production environment, which may involve standing, walking, or lifting materials.
