Staff Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients across the age spectrum within the Surgical Services Department. This position supervises and coordinates care planning with other disciplines. It is essential to adhere to organizational requirements and ensure the safety and wellbeing of associates and patients. Responsibilities include functioning as a scrub, circulating, or float nurse in the operating room as assigned. The nurse must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Duties include participating in site identification processes and time outs on each case. Maintain established departmental policies and procedures and departmental objectives. The nurse is responsible for providing optimal physical and emotional environments for patients. This role may involve rotational assignments to various departments and sharing call duty as required. The nurse must fulfill all competencies, licenses, certifications, and education requirements outlined by relevant regulatory agencies. Willingness to perform other duties and innovations as assigned is expected. Compliance with confidentiality regulations is mandatory. The role involves potential exposure to blood and body fluids, necessitating the use of protective measures. The job requires frequent physical activity, including bending, lifting, and transferring patients. This position serves adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients, necessitating a strong understanding of age-specific care needs.
