Entry Level Technician

The Entry Level Technician supports an RF laboratory by assisting with troubleshooting, testing, calibration, and assembly of electronic equipment. This role reports to the RF lab lead and involves maintaining accurate daily logs and reports of work performed. Assigned projects are moderately complex and require the ability to work with growing independence while learning RF technologies and service procedures.

Responsibilities

• Support the RF lab lead in completing daily tasks related to testing, calibration, repair, and assembly of RF and electronic equipment.
• Learn and apply RF technology concepts to troubleshoot equipment issues under guidance.
• Assist with the repair and calibration of RF and electronic test equipment.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions using appropriate test methods and tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and spectrum analyzers.
• Perform service activities on equipment, including basic maintenance, adjustments, and functional checks.
• Conduct testing and measurement of RF equipment to verify performance and compliance with specifications.
• Prepare accurate daily logs and detailed reports of work performed, including test results and actions taken.
• Follow established procedures and quality standards, including those related to ISO 9001.
• Handle moderately complex assigned projects, taking independent action where appropriate while seeking guidance when needed.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area in the repair and service center.

Essential Skills

• Fundamental understanding or strong interest in RF (radio frequency) technology and electronic equipment.
• Ability to perform basic troubleshooting on electronic and RF equipment under supervision.
• Ability to assist with repair and service of equipment, including disassembly, inspection, and reassembly of electro-mechanical components.
• Familiarity with calibration concepts and willingness to learn calibration procedures for RF and electronic instruments.
• Basic experience using oscilloscopes for measurement and troubleshooting tasks.
• Basic experience using multimeters for voltage, current, and resistance measurements.
• Basic experience using spectrum analyzers for RF testing and measurement.
• Ability to follow ISO 9001-related procedures and documentation requirements.
• Strong attention to detail in documenting work, test results, and daily activities.
• Ability to work on moderately complex tasks with growing independence and problem-solving skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Exposure to or experience with electro-mechanical assembly.
• Experience or training in calibration of RF or electronic test equipment.
• Experience performing repair or service on RF or electronic equipment in a lab or service environment.
• Interest in developing deeper expertise in RF test and measurement equipment.
• Comfort working with a variety of RF equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and spectrum analyzers.
• Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO 9001.
• Willingness to continuously learn new technologies and tools in RF, testing, and measurement.

Work Environment

This role is based in a dedicated repair and service center with a clean and organized environment. Work is primarily hands-on with RF and electronic test equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and spectrum analyzers. The setting is laboratory-style, focused on precision, quality, and adherence to established procedures and standards. You will work closely with an RF lab lead and technical colleagues in a professional, technology-driven environment that emphasizes safety, accuracy, and reliability.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbia, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
