Assistant Teaching Professor in Arts & Humanities Position Overview Organization: Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences Title: Assistant Teaching Professor in Arts & Humanities Position Description The School of Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences (IAS) at the University of Washington Bothell (UWB) invites applications for a teaching faculty position at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor with an anticipated start of September 16, 2027. We seek applicants who demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, mentorship, scholarship, and service within a diverse and inclusive academic community. The successful candidate will join our faculty on a full-time basis for a nine-month, 5-year academic appointment. The base salary range for this position will be $8,500 - $8,889 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a range of courses in digital photography and interdisciplinary art, visual art and design, and media related fields. Courses should be designed to support the success of undergraduate students with diverse academic preparation and cultural and linguistic backgrounds. This is a Teaching Track appointment and is not eligible for tenure. Assistant Teaching Professors teach 7 courses a year, across 3 quarters and are eligible for renewable multi-year appointments, promotion, and sabbatical, among other benefits available to full-time UW faculty members. Qualifications Applicants for this teaching faculty position must meet the following minimum qualifications: Earned MFA or Ph.D. required by time of appointment. Minimum 1-2 years teaching experience in Photography and Visual Media Art courses.
