Project AccountantOffice Location: 601 First Street NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504Position Classification: Full-Time RegularRockford Construction is seeking a Project Accountant to support the accounting operations of assigned construction projects, focusing on accounts payable, accounts receivable, and project-related financial processes. This role partners closely with project teams and the management staff to ensure accurate financial reporting, timely payments, and successful execution of company objectives.In this role, you will work collaboratively with project managers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal departments. Key responsibilities include preparing owner pay applications, processing trade contractor payments, and collecting and reviewing sworn statements and lien waivers throughout the project lifecycle.The ideal candidate is reliable, analytical, detail-oriented, and has a basic understanding of accounting principles. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders are essential. At Rockford Construction, you'll be part of a fun, hardworking, and team-focused environment that values collaboration and professional growth.What Will I Do?Prepare and assemble monthly owner pay applicationsMaintain and adjust project budgets and change ordersServe as a resource for resolving accounts payable and accounts receivable issuesTrack project receivables and monitor collectionsEnter trade contractor invoices into approval workflow systemReview sworn statements and tiered lien waivers for accuracy and complianceMonitor project underbilling and assist with resolutionManage and process trade payables based on contract termsAct as liaison between operations, vendors/trade contractors, and ownersAssist with month-end close and audit preparations as neededPerform other related duties as assigned
