Sworn Police Officer - Part Time

Position Details Position Type: Part Time Pay Rate: $33.84 / Hour Job Schedule: DayTime Sat 08:00 AM - 08:00 PM, Sun 08:00 AM - 08:00 PM Qualifications Be at least 21 years of age Must be an active police officer, not retired High School Diploma or GED, Police ID, VPEC, and Firearm certification. North Carolina Basic Law Enforcement certification is required. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. Attend required periodic training sessions and seminars, maintain required level of proficiency in the use of firearms. Able to: Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow or heat Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time Responsibilities Perform general law enforcement duties including patrolling hospital campus, checking property, conducting room searches, maintaining order and public safety. Issue traffic and parking citations; apprehend, question and arrest suspects; collect and preserve evidence; conduct investigations; respond to and assist in all medical emergencies; assist in conducting fire drills and evacuating buildings; provide security escorts for personnel; and chauffeur division heads and visitors as requested. Attend required periodic training sessions and seminars; maintain required level of proficiency in the use of firearms.
