Dental Assistant VitalCore Health Strategies, an industry leader in Correctional Healthcare, is hiring for a PRN Day Shift Dental Assistant at Kenosha Detention Facility in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Position Summary The Dental Assistant works under direct supervision of the dentist while assisting with patient care, instruments, supplies, and records. Essential Functions Prepare operatory with appropriate instruments and material for scheduled patients. Assist dentist during treatment, providing instruments, material retraction or suction; sterilize instruments and disinfect operatory between patients. Schedule patients for dental appointments. Perform laboratory procedures such as mixing impression material for dentures and assist in the clinical procedures of prosthetic dentistry. Develop and mount routine radiographs; assist in maintaining dental charts and records of findings. Follow security regulations for keys, sharps, and controlled medications. Adhere to safety and security policies and participate in disaster drills. Follow Universal Precautions and other infection control practices. Inventory and order supplies to maintain proper levels. Attend training and meetings as required. Required Education, Certifications, Registration Minimum of one-year dental assistant experience. High school diploma or equivalent. Current CPR certification. Subject to initial and ongoing security clearance requirements. Schedule PRN Day Shift – Fridays, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM or 9:00 AM–5:00 PM.
